TYPES OF PSORIASIS

According to the clinical morphological characteristics these are the following types:

Plaques Psoriasis.

The most frequent shape is delineated plaques shape of a few millimeters in diameter or bigger. When these plaques cover a bigger area, itīs called Generalized Psoriasis. Usually the first plaques appear on the knees, elbows and scalp or behind the ears. However they can appear on any part of human body.

   

Feet & hand Psoriasis (palm/plantar):

In this case the plaques appear on the hands and/or feet. If the patient does not present with another lesion the Psoriasis could be difficult to diagnose. When it appears on the hands the social relationship become difficult. The feet plantar Psoriasis may affect normal walking activity.

   

Scalp Psoriasis.

This is a very common Psoriasis which some-times seems like seborrhea, though the scales are not greasy, its detachment is difficult and does not cause irreversible hair loss.
